Morag Stuart is Head of Compliance at Johnstons of Elgin. She is Textile Professional with 26 years’ experience in Scottish woollen and cashmere manufacturing. Graduating in 1997 from Heriot Watt University with a BSC in Textile Technology, she started her career as a Technologist with Calzeat & Co Ltd , a woven accessories manufacturer in the Scottish Borders, before moving to Johnstons of Elgin in 2004, to join as Quality Manager. Shas recently transitioned to the role of Head of Compliance, encompassing Quality, H&S, Continuous Improvement and sustainability. She is passionate about the heritage of Scottish cashmere manufacturing and getting involved in the stewardship of cashmere production at all levels, preserving it for future generations. She has been a member of the SSIC since August 2023.
